The PhD (Law) is a research-based programme that provides students with the knowledge of theory and application of the law. The programme will provide a platform for students to undertake independent research in various areas of law like Corporate Laws, International Business and Trade related laws, Healthcare and Medical Laws as well as Human Rights and Liberties, just to name a few.   • A Bachelor’s Degree (Level 6, MQF) in Law or Shariah and a Master’s Degree (Level 7, MQF) OR
  • Its equivalent as accepted by the Higher Education Provider (HEP) Senate
  • International students are required to have a score of 550 for Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or 100 for online TOEFL test or a score of 6.0 for International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or its equivalent. The validity of the IELTS or equivalent is within 2 years from the date of the examination.

1. Research Methodology
Students are required to pass the Research Methodology modules (6 credit hours) in the first year of their candidature. Students will also be required to complete Seminars on Legal Research Methods.

2. Publication
Students will be required to publish at least one (1) refereed journal article as a graduation requirement.
