The Chinese Studies programme at Xiamen University has a long history of scholastic excellence since its establishment in 1921. Famous scholars such as Lu Xun and Lin Yutang were once the teaching staff of this programme. We are supported by the Humanities College, which consists of 9 research institutes and 15 research centres.
The college publishes a number of high quality academic journals, such as China's Social and Economic Historical Research and Taoism Research. It has been accorded the honour of being the "National Talents Training and Research Base for Fundamental Studies in Humanities" and the "National Quality Courses" provider by China's Ministry of Education, and has evolved to become the torch-bearer in the provision of education in the fields of Chinese linguistics, literature, history and philosophical studies.
Our programme at Xiamen University Malaysia Campus aims to produce graduates who are proficient in Chinese, possess an in-depth understanding of Chinese literature, history, philosophy and culture, and are capable of transferring theoretical knowledge into practical applications. We expect our graduates to find gainful employment in the spheres of education, mass media, commerce and culture.
