The Bachelor of Business course prepares students for a career in the business profession. The course develops future business leaders who have strong skills in innovation and entrepreneurship. Students are introduced to key fundamental concepts behind certain business disciplines.

Depending on their choice of major study areas, students have the choice of graduating with a Bachelor of Business, or one of the following professional majors:

  • Bachelor of Business (Accounting)
  • Bachelor of Business (Accounting and Finance)
  • Bachelor of Business (Finance)
  • Bachelor of Business (Human Resource Management)
  • Bachelor of Business (International Business)
  • Bachelor of Business (Management)
  • Bachelor of Business (Marketing)


Aims and objectives
Upon successfully completing the Bachelor of Business students will be able to:
  • Define and integrate theoretical principles applicable to business and apply those principles in a range of practices
  • Systematically review and critically evaluate research from a variety of sources in order to make informed judgements on options for innovatively solving a range of problems that arise in business contexts
  • Formulate creative solutions that are fit for purpose and demonstrate cognisance of the impact of business decisions on the triple bottom line
  • Coherently articulate a line of reasoning demonstrating cultural sensitivity and apply a framework to analyse and offer solutions to ethical dilemmas
  • Communicate a range of business arguments by evaluating and implementing alternative communication strategies as appropriate to the audience
  • Build on and continuously develop the intellectual independence to be critical and reflective learners, cognisant of new technologies
  • Work collaboratively in diverse groups


Students may undertake the Bachelor of Business program by completing one of the following majors:
  • Accounting
  • Accounting and Finance
  • Finance
  • Human Resource Management
  • International Business
  • Management
  • Marketing

In doing so, they will transfer into the associated Bachelor of Business. The more specific goals for each major are listed under the program details for that major.


Career opportunities
Graduates may seek employment in a wide range of fields such as accounting, business analysis, finance, human resources, international business, management or marketing. For specific career opportunities of individual majors, refer to the individual Business majors.


Professional recognition
Depending on the specialisation selected, graduates may be eligible for membership to the following organisations: Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI), CPA Australia (CPA), Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Australian Institute of Banking and Finance, Financial Services Institute of Australasia, Australian Institute of Management (AIM), Australian Marketing Institute (AMI), Australian Market and Social Research Society (AMSRS) and the Institute of Corporate Managers, Secretaries and Administrators.

The indicative course fees shown here applies to students studying on-campus in Malaysia for the relevant year only. They are based on a standard study load per year. However, please note that fees are assessed according to a student’s study load in each semester, and variation to study load will result in an adjustment to tuition fees. All fees are subject to annual review and may be adjusted.
Course structure
For the completion of the Bachelor of Business, students are required to complete a total of 24 units (300 credit points) consisting of:

  • Eight [8] prescribed Bachelor of Business core units (100 credit points)
  • Eight [8] units of study from a business discipline major in one of the following: Finance, Human Resource Management, International Business, Management, Marketing (100 credit points)
    OR
    Eleven (11) units of study from the Accounting discipline major (137.5 credit points)
    OR
    Sixteen (16) units from the Accounting and Finance discipline major (200 credit points)
  • Eight [8] units of Secondary studies (100 credit points) comprising of a second major, co-major, minor/s, or electives but for Accounting five [5] units of Secondary studies (62.5 credit points) comprising of a minor or electives
