Dietitians are trained professionals involved in managing diseases by providing appropriate dietary therapies. Dietitians are also involved in the prevention of diseases through health promotion and health education. 

This profession invites an extensive variety of career possibilities. Dietitians work together with other healthcare professionals in health clinics, government/private hospitals and food service industries to manage individuals with various disease conditions. 

Bachelor of Science (Honours) Dietetics is a 4-year programme consists of 12 trimesters. The programme incorporates a wide-ranging scope of knowledge required for Dietetics practice; including biochemistry, anatomy and physiology, human nutrition, fundamentals of food preparation, the role of nutrition in disease prevention and treatment, and medical nutrition therapy for individuals with diseases. 

There is emerging demand for dietitians in Malaysia and overseas. More dietitians are required to meet the desired ratio for the development of a healthy nation for the new millennium. Dietetics profession may be labelled as the "hidden gems" among the healthcare professions

  • STPM with minimum GPA of 2.33 in 2 of the following subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry OR Physics / Mathematics
  • A-Level with Grade D in 2 of the following subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry OR Physics / Mathematics
  • South Australian Matriculation ( SAM ) with an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank ( ATAR ) 70 and Grade B of the following subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry OR Physics / Mathematics
  • Canadian Pre-University ( CPU ) with an average of 70% in 6 subjects including 2 of the following subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry OR Physics / Mathematics
  • Unified Examination Certificate ( UEC ) with Grade B in 5 subjects including 2 of the following subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry OR Physics / Mathematics
  • Foundation in Science, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman ( UTAR ) with minimum GPA of 2.33 in 2 of the following subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry OR Physics / Mathematics
  • Foundation/Matriculation qualification in the relevant field from other Institutions of Higher Learning with minimum GPA 2.33 in 2 of the following subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry OR Physics / Mathematics
  • Matriculation Certificate, Minstry of Education with a minimum GPA 2.33 in 2 of the following subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry OR Physics / Mathematics
  • Diploma qualification in the relevant field from Tunku Abdul Rahman University College ( TAR UC ) / other Higher Education providers with minimum CGPA of 2.75. If CGPA less than 2.75, a minimum of 36 months working experience in the related field is required 
  • Other equivalent qualifications with minimum GPA of 2.33 in 2 of the following subjects i.e. Biology, Chemistry OR Physics / Mathematics recognised by the Malaysian Government

  • MUET Band 3/IELTS Band 5.5/TOEFL score of 550 ( not applicable for qualifications conducted fully in English Language )
