American Degree Transfer Program Courses

The Canadian International Matriculation Programme (CIMP) is a Year 12 secondary school curriculum delivered according to the requirements of the Ontario (Canada) Ministry of Education. CIMP graduates earn the highly regarded Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) which is globally accepted as an entry into universities. CIMP is a rigorous programme with high academic standards. The day-to-day classroom progression centres on the expansion, transmission and application of knowledge, skills and attitudes from the Canadian curriculum.

Australian Matriculation is an Australian-based qualification that is offered to students before entering university. It is considered a Year 12 qualification, which is equivalent to STPM or Malaysian Matriculation. Both SACE (South Australian Certificate of Education) International and WACE (Western Australian Certificate of Education) are coursework-based, where your final grades will be based on a mix of coursework and examination. Most students typically take 5 subjects, including English.

The American Degree Program (more commonly known as ADP) is a direct entry into university level after SPM or O-Level. Unlike other Pre-University programmes such as A-Level, SAM and STPM, enrolling into ADP would mean that you are already pursuing your degree. ADP programmes in Malaysia usually have a credit-transfer option, which means that you can transfer to a university overseas (typically in USA or Canada) to finish your degree after studying anywhere between 1 – 2 years in Malaysia.

A course taken at some colleges and universities, either in a wide range of subjects or in one subject at a basic level, preparing students for more advanced study.

A Level in Malaysia (also known as GCE Advanced Level) is a pre-university programme that students pursue after their SPM, O Level or Year 11. Following the UK education system, this 100% exam-based course is equivalent to STPM and is suitable for students who are academically inclined. In short, students who do well in exams will excel in this programme. It is known as “the passport” into any university locally or globally. It is a globally accepted entry requirement into universities around the world, especially for entrance into top universities in the United Kingdom (Russell Group) and the United States (Ivy League).
